Job Description

The Reliability Engineer plays an important role in insuring the reliability and maximum efficiency of our wind turbines out at our Waubra, Gunning, Mt Gellibrand and Cathedral Rocks wind farms. With the anticipated completion of our new Mortlake south wind farm, this is an exciting opportunity for someone with an electrical engineering background to get involved in new electrical operating systems and work for a global leader in sustainable solutions.

Reporting to the Asset Services Manager and joining an Asset Services team of five, you will provide engineering expertise to assist maintenance activities and resolve technical issues. While the successful candidate will have an Electrical Engineering qualification, the role will have elements of both electrical and mechanical works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support to all operational assets
  • Manage reliability engineering programs
  • Undertake Root Cause Analysis investigations on failed or faulting equipment
  • Analyse plant performance and maintenance data to identify improvements for maintenance performance
  • Liaise with Engineering teams (head office in Spain), equipment suppliers and manufacturers to resolve engineering issues
  • Review operational data for purposes of trend analysis, fault finding and maximizing efficiency
  • Undertake electrical engineering reviews of retro fits, upgrades and asset changes
  • Support Asset Services in the development, implementation and review of the asset management plan
  • Provide support and authority on High Voltage activities at operational sites

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Must have completed a Bachelor degree or equivalent technical competence in electrical engineering
  • Must have experience in a reliability engineering or related role within the renewable sector
  • Exposure to wind energy technology, modelling, and business systems advantageous
  • Must be able to travel for training and meetings to various locations (including international)
  • Must have intermediate to advanced excel skills
  • Experience with Maximo or a similar CMMS system advantageous
  • Experience with AEMO operational requirements an advantage advantageous
