We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced and suitably qualified Safety Advisor to join the Mortlake South Wind Farm (MSWF) 220kv Underground Interconnector project (5 kilometers south of Mortlake in the Moyne Shire, VIC).
Summary of the projects’ scope of works:
- 15km of power and fibre optic cable (Elec) from substation in South Mortlake to Substation in Terang
- 12 cable joints (Civil/Elec)
- Trenching and pit work (Civil)
Delivered by ACCIONA’s energy division, the A$288 million project will deliver significant economic and environmental benefits to the region and is expected to generate a construction peak workforce of 100 construction jobs throughout the life of the project.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced safety professional to join our energetic and highly successful team. To win this role you would need to have a minimum of 3 years project experience in a safety role ideally with a civil or mechanical background. You will also need to have up-to-date safety qualifications and the ability to understand and interpret WHS legislation, excellent communication and have passion for HSE. You are confident to identify all authority requirements associated with the project and the management of all necessary approvals. This role is ideal for a fastidious safety person, who is happy to be site based – residing within the Mortlake region would be ideal.
You can advise on project contractual requirements of the Safety Management System as required, be responsible for ensuring that operations are carried out safely with consideration of environmental protection. You will be expected to promote a positive culture of safety and environmental awareness to team members. Also ensuring that projects comply with legislation in relation to the use of its plant and equipment as well as workplace activities and always meets its statutory and industry obligations in respect to industrial and safety matters.
