Project Cost Controller & Scheduler

The Project Cost Controller & Scheduler, reporting to the Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the project cost and schedule control strategies in a consistent manner, using Primavera software P6 and Unifier, and producing corresponding project reporting for the construction of the Mortlake South Wind Farm.  The role is based initially in Melbourne, transitioning to work at the site in Mortlake. 


Key Responsibilities 


Schedule:
• Engage with project disciplines including Procurement, Legal, Engineering, Construction etc. to develop activity breakdowns and likely durations
• Develop, under guidance from the broader EPC team and in accordance with Acciona Energy WBS the project baseline schedule 
• Maintain the project schedule throughout the project life cycle 
• Participate in internal, external and contract discussion re activity scheduling and prioritization 
• Review Contractor baseline schedules and associated time related claims
• Work closely with the Assistant Project Manager, Construction Manager and Project Director to monitor project performance and identify / flag issues affecting milestone delivery
• Integrate the various subcontractor schedules into the project master schedule


Cost:
• Engage with project disciplines including Procurement, Legal, Engineering, Construction to understand detailed activity cost breakdown
• Develop, under guidance from the broader EPC team and in accordance with Acciona Energy CBS the project cost baseline 
• Maintain the project cost reporting throughout the project life cycle 
• Participate in internal, external and contract discussion re cost performance and analysis  
• Work closely with the Assistant Project Manager, Contracts Administrator, Project Director and Finance department to monitor cost performance, and maintain cashflow forecasting.
• Estimate potential additional works using first principles


General:
• Develop relationships across the project to facilitate maintenance and tracking of cost and schedule
• Produce weekly project controls reporting and inform by exception to the Assistant Project Manager 
• Develop project reporting content for tabling at coordination meetings
• Develop and maintain relationship with local and central cost control and scheduling teams 




Qualifications and experience:


• 5 years experience in major project cost and schedule control (wind farm experience preferred) 
• Good knowledge of planning and construction methodologies
• Bachelor degree in Engineering
• Formal training in Primavera viewed favourably 
• Analytical skills
• An eye for detail and accuracy in both time and cost
• Understanding of earned value management and forensic delays analysis
• Good knowledge of Australian Standards/Regulations
